Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition

Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition game which was released in October of 2021; is the sequel to the successful video game series Darksiders. The second installment in the Darksiders series features more of the same great things that the first game offered; such as an improved storyline and more weapons and upgrades. However; there are a few things that this game doesn’t have as much of; which I found disappointing. I’ll go over some of them so you can make an informed decision on whether or not you’re going to buy this game. First of all; Darksiders II has a lot of potential; but some elements of the game just don’t feel very lived in.

For example; the story in the game is almost non-existent. There isn’t a character created to represent the player and they don’t interact with the environment; making it feel like they’re just walking around. In order to progress the plot; you must complete various quests within the game. When you do this; you will be rewarded with points that you use to level up your character and ultimately reach the final objective of completing the game.

Another problem that the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition doesn’t have is online play. There aren’t any campaigns included; so if you don’t have internet connection at the moment you won’t be able to play the game. Although; the developers assure that future updates and patches will make it possible for players to play online. Currently; however; there are no plans for an Xbox One version of the game.

Other issues include the fact that the final boss of the game; a giant named Thanatos; is not actually too difficult to kill. The problem is that you only see his back; so you have to rely on your skills to attack him and take him out. If you encounter any kind of block; then you lose a little bit of time you should have used fighting him; which makes it difficult to complete the game.

Patches

The real challenge is finding the game’s multiple endings.

On top of that; the graphics aren’t very impressive. Even my Xbox One doesn’t seem to be able to handle them very well. For example; when I finished the demo; the sun was shining in the background; but when I tried using the darksiders ii deathinitive edition in-game; the sun was completely out of place; so the game looked like it was made by two different companies. It’s also been made by two different people; so expect some differences between the two games when it comes to graphical quality and overall design.

Unfortunately; the overall quality of the game is not as high as I had hoped for. In terms of game play; the game is okay; but there are just too many problems that make me wish that I hadn’t spent my money buying the Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition. There are some great features that the console can utilize; such as the voice chat option; but the majority of the problems seem to arise from the game’s troubled development. Hopefully; we will get an update for the Xbox One soon enough; but until then; the PlayStation 4 must be the better choice if you want to play this game at its best.
