Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut

The Ghost of Tsushima is the follow up to the highly popular Tsumamii anime series. Although the first season ended promisingly; this second season has disappointed a lot of viewers due to some weaker stories and animation. This article will try to assess the movie based on its overall quality and deliver an honest Ghost of Tsushima review.

The Ghost of Tsushima follows the story of Tomoya Kohaku; who lives a peaceful life near the coast. One day; he receives a phone call from his friend Takuo Yamada; who was taken away by a mysterious force. Tomoya immediately goes after the person who took him not knowing that it was his own father. However; he soon realizes that his father has been turned into a cyborg and is on the verge of death. To protect his father; Tomoya must travel to another dimension known as the afterlife where he meets his own father’s killer; a man called Nagi Genda.

The interesting thing about Ghost of Tsushima is that it gives the series a more realistic setting. This is very evident when you take a look at the movie’s cast. There are several Japanese and foreign characters such as English subtitles; which makes it easier for the movie watcher not to get confused with the fast paced and action packed scenes. For anime fans who loved the light-hearted nature of the anime series; this one definitely has a few chuckles.

Another interesting thing about Ghost of Tsushima is that it takes a step away from the light-hearted and comedy style. The series becomes more serious when the father of one of the main characters; Tomoya; falls ill and is hospitalized. Nagi decides to take care of him as her own daughter; so she releases her dark power called the Dark Doctor. Tomoya is then forced to fight his own father and learn that there is more to power than just the ability to wield weapons.

One thing that Ghost of Tsushima has that most other animals do not be original characters. In this series; the characters are more like original video game characters. The director even added some game features into the story for the fans who really loved playing video game before watching this movie. Although the overall story is interesting; the action scenes can be a bit too random at times. That being said; I still adored the series because of its excellent story and the pure entertainment value of the film.

Ghost of Tsushima is available on Video Directories. You can also watch it online if you have an internet connection and a high speed connection. It is also available on DVD; but some people claim that the quality of the picture is not that great. So if you plan on watching this movie; make sure you have a DVD player that can play this kind of movie.
