Humankind is a coming new 4X graphical video game being created by Amplitude Studios and hopefully to be released by Sega later this year. The game is already scheduled for release for Microsoft Windows; macOS; and St Andrews in August 2021. I am so excited about this new installment of the mankind series. If you have played any of their previous games such as; Dawn of Machines andutation; you know that this will be nothing like those games. I can not wait to play this.
One of the things that I really liked about the Humankind title; was that the gameplay was quite varied and the visuals were quite detailed. It had a sci-fi theme and this theme got expanded upon in the sequel. In the sequel we got a new cast of characters; new locations; and even got to see some of the old characters from the first game to get involved in the plot. Although the storyline got somewhat repetitive; it was still extremely exciting to follow. This new version of the series definitely takes us back to the olden days of video game’s and human history. I am looking forward to playing through the campaign a couple of times just to refresh my memory on all the settings.
The narrative director for the series is Niels Espino; who is a writer for television. His experience working on a number of different narrative titles for consoles such as Halo; Syndicate and Crysis; is proving beneficial to the team at Sega when it comes to crafting the narrative for this new game. The style and fluidity of the writing is very impressive. The voice of humanity is quite well done; which adds to the overall quality of the game.
Humanity is on the brink of destruction. A mysterious force has wiped out most of humanity’s population; including almost all of the technological advancements the civilization had made over the years. The main plot revolves around the question of how to survive in the post-apocalyptic world and figure out a way to continue the progress of mankind.
The real challenge is finding the game’s multiple endings.
In contrast to previous Mankind video games; this one does not have a single story line centered on one character. Each mission and battle is designed to let you learn about the culture and society of humankind as a whole. As you play through the different missions; you’ll learn more about the nature of mankind; their history; and what makes them fight so hard against every form of adversity. The overall goal of the game is to learn more about the nature of this powerful race. From the perspective of the narrative director for the game; this means teaching the player a bit more about the history of the mankind race and how they managed to take down some of the most technologically advanced machines on the planet.
Unlike the countless other games that have been released to date; you can expect to play through more than 30 different civilizations. The designers did an amazing job of creating a grand strategy game with the sheer amount of different content. The storyline will keep you on your toes from start to finish; as you learn more about the mysterious Endless Ocean; about the mysterious origins of humankind; and about their strange allies. You will also get to see what makes each civilization unique; and use this information in order to conquer the balance in the Endless Ocean. The gameplay is an endless blend of combat; exploration; and strategy; and will give you hours of enjoyment if you like playing grand strategy games on the internet.
